Inner House Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Inner House.

Legal details

Effective date: May 22, 2026

Inner House is user-led. It organizes what users choose to record and does not diagnose, provide therapy, provide crisis services, or interpret what records mean.

01

Agreement

By accessing or using Inner House, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

02

Who Operates Inner House

Inner House is operated by Brittany Apps.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@brittanyapps.com.

03

Eligibility

For app eligibility, Inner House uses the account holder's body age.

The account holder's body age must be at least 18 to use Inner House. Profile or internal age labels may be younger; those labels do not change account eligibility.

By creating an account or using Inner House, you represent that your body age is 18 or older and that you are allowed to use the app under applicable law.

04

About Inner House

Inner House is a private organization app for records users choose to create.

It can help users record and organize profiles, profile groups, message tags, check-ins, memories, House Notes, attachments, calm tools, safety plans, therapy notes, House Review, House History, House Chat, polls, votes, House Map records, trusted-person sharing records, optional connections, exports, imports, settings, and related information.

Inner House is user-led. You choose what to enter, edit, export, share, delete, or leave out.

05

No Diagnosis, Therapy, Medical Care, or Crisis Service

Inner House is not a medical device, therapy service, crisis service, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional care.

Inner House does not diagnose any condition, provide therapy, provide medical advice, provide crisis counseling, contact emergency services for you, interpret you, tell you why a profile, memory, feeling, or check-in exists, or replace a therapist, doctor, emergency service, or trusted support person.

If you are in immediate danger, believe someone else is in immediate danger, are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a trusted person nearby.

06

Accounts and Security

Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.

You are responsible for all activity under your account unless the activity occurs because of our failure to use reasonable security measures.

If you believe someone opened or used your account without permission, contact us at hello@brittanyapps.com.

07

User Content

You may create, upload, store, or enter content in Inner House, including profiles, groups, tags, hidden status, check-ins, memories, notes, attachments, calm tools, safety plans, therapy notes, therapy summaries, House Chat messages, polls, votes, House Map records, trusted-person records, share events, extra fields, color themes, connection display names, invite notes, shared profiles, messages, check-in choices, reports, imports, exports, and other information.

You keep ownership of the content you create.

You allow Inner House to store, process, send, and show your content only as needed to provide app features, operate the service, maintain security, provide support, manage paid plans or purchases, and comply with legal obligations.

You are responsible for the content you choose to record and for any decisions you make based on that content.

08

Use Limits

You agree not to use Inner House to:

  • Violate laws or regulations.
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, abuse, expose, or harm others.
  • Use connection invites for spam, scams, impersonation, bullying, sexual exploitation, or unwanted contact.
  • Use connection messages, trusted-person records, support contacts, share cards, exports, imports, notifications, or widgets to harass, expose, or harm others.

09

Connections and Sharing

If you use Connections, you are responsible for deciding who receives your invite code and whether to accept someone else's code.

Connection invite codes connect two accounts. They are not limited to a specific profile.

Connections may include messages, optional profile messages, shared profiles, and check-in choices you choose to enable or manage. Inner House does not provide public profile search, random matching, public feeds, or automatic sharing with other users.

Trusted People, share cards, image cards, copy tools, exports, and summaries are preview-first. Inner House does not automatically send them to anyone.

Inner House may provide unfriend, report, and block controls for connections. We may review reports and restrict access when needed to protect users, the public, or the app.

10

Privacy, Export, and Deletion

Your use of Inner House is also governed by the Inner House Privacy Policy.

Inner House provides in-app controls to export data, review supported imports through Moving Boxes, delete app data while keeping the sign-in account active, or start account deletion.

Deleting your account may permanently delete your data, except where we are legally required or permitted to retain certain information.

11

Free and Paid Features

Inner House may offer free features and optional paid features.

Core safety, privacy, connections, messages, House Chat, polls, attachments, export, import review, data deletion, App Lock, Quick Cover, notifications, widgets, check-in reminders, and deletion controls are part of the base app where supported by the device and build.

13

Feature Changes and Availability

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features over time.

We do our best to avoid removing access to important user-owned data. If a feature changes in a major way, we will try to explain the change clearly.

We work to keep Inner House available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The app may be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, third-party service outages, network issues, or circumstances outside our control.

14

Data Loss and Backups

We use reasonable efforts to store user data reliably, but no service can guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, delayed, or unavailable.

You are encouraged to export important information when export tools are available.

15

Third-Party Services and Store Terms

Inner House may rely on app stores, operating systems, authentication providers, database and storage providers, hosting providers, notification services, purchase management services, payment providers, and customer support tools.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Brittany Apps is not responsible for third-party services it does not control.

If you download Inner House from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use of the app may also be subject to that store's terms and policies.

16

Intellectual Property

Inner House, including its design, branding, features, text, graphics, code, and other materials, is owned by Brittany Apps or its licensors, except for content you create.

You may not copy, change, share, sell, rent, reverse engineer, or try to take apart how Inner House works unless the law allows it or we say yes in writing.

17

Feedback

If you send ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or feedback, Brittany Apps may use that feedback to improve Inner House without paying you.

18

Termination

You may stop using Inner House at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create security risks, or if required by law.

19

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, availability, accuracy, non-infringement, or that the app will meet your needs.

20

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brittany Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, emotional distress, or other intangible losses arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some limitations may not apply to you.

21

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brittany Apps from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the app, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or violation of another person's rights.

22

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.

23
