This Privacy Policy explains how Bloom, a mobile application created and operated by Brittany Hornick ("Bloom," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Bloom mobile application, including any related iOS widget functionality.

Last updated: April 6, 2026

By downloading, accessing, or using Bloom, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

01

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Bloom mobile application and related features made available through mobile platforms such as the Apple App Store and Google Play, if applicable.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected by app stores, device manufacturers, operating system providers, or third-party services that may distribute the app or process your download, payment, or device-level permissions under their own terms and privacy policies.

02

2. Information We Collect

Bloom is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and Bloom does not include a user login system.

Depending on how you use the app, Bloom may process the following categories of information:

03

A. Information stored locally on your device

Bloom stores certain information locally on your device in order to provide the app's core functionality. This may include:

This information is stored locally using on-device storage mechanisms such as app storage or local device defaults. We do not currently operate a Bloom backend account system that syncs this information to our own servers.

  • Saved favorite affirmations or "garden" items
  • Reminder settings, such as whether daily reminders are enabled
  • Reminder time preferences
  • App state or display preferences needed for normal app operation
  • Widget-related local data or shared local settings used to support Bloom's iOS widget behavior

04

B. Notification permission data

If you choose to enable reminders, Bloom may request permission to send notifications to your device. If permission is granted, Bloom may schedule local recurring notifications on your device to deliver your daily reminder.

Bloom currently uses local scheduled notifications for reminder functionality. Bloom does not currently collect a push token for remote marketing campaigns or operate a remote messaging service for Bloom reminders.

05

C. Device, platform, and technical information

Some technical information may be made available to us indirectly through the platforms that distribute or operate the app, such as Apple, Google, Expo, or your device operating system. This may include limited technical or diagnostic information associated with app delivery, updates, crashes, or store operations.

We do not state that we receive all such information directly, and the extent of that information depends on the platform and your device settings.

06

D. Information you provide when contacting us

If you contact us for support, feedback, or privacy questions, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, device details, and the contents of your message.

07

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Based on Bloom's current design, we do not intentionally collect through the app:

Bloom is also not designed to track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes.

  • Account registration data such as usernames and passwords
  • Payment card information through the app itself
  • Advertising identifiers for Bloom's own ad targeting
  • Precise location information
  • Contacts, photos, camera input, microphone recordings, or health data
  • Personal profile information beyond what you voluntarily send in a support request

08

4. How We Use Information

We use information processed through Bloom to:

  • Provide the app's daily affirmation, favorites, calendar, reminder, and widget features
  • Save your app preferences and settings on your device
  • Request and honor your notification choices
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve Bloom
  • Respond to support inquiries, bug reports, or feedback you send to us
  • Comply with applicable law, legal process, or platform requirements

10

6. How and When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:

Because Bloom is currently designed to function primarily on-device, most of your day-to-day app usage data remains on your device unless you separately provide information to us or to a platform provider.

  • With service or platform providers involved in app distribution, hosting, tooling, diagnostics, or notification infrastructure to the extent necessary for those services to function
  • If required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process
  • To protect rights, safety, property, users, or the public
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or similar business transaction involving Bloom

11

7. Data Retention

Information stored locally in Bloom generally remains on your device until you remove it, clear the app's data, uninstall the app, or change the relevant settings.

If you contact us directly, we may retain your support communications for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with legal obligations.

12

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we control. However, no method of electronic storage, transmission, or processing is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including any passcode, biometric lock, operating system updates, and access controls on the device where Bloom is installed.

13

9. International Data Transfers

If we or our service providers process information in countries other than your own, that information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Where required, we will take appropriate steps to use lawful transfer mechanisms.

14

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to:

Because Bloom is primarily local-first, you can often manage or delete app data directly on your device by:

If you want to make a privacy request regarding information we may hold outside the device, contact us at hello@brittanyapps.com.

  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of personal information we hold about you
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Request portability of certain information, where applicable
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory or regulatory authority
  • Removing saved favorites inside the app
  • Disabling reminders in the app or device settings
  • Uninstalling the app
  • Clearing app data using your device controls where available

15

11. U.S. State Privacy Disclosures

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with applicable privacy rights, the disclosures in this Privacy Policy are intended to describe:

We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under certain state privacy laws, based on Bloom's current design.

  • The categories of personal information we may collect
  • The purposes for which that information may be used
  • The categories of third parties to whom information may be disclosed
  • Your applicable rights to access, delete, correct, or limit certain uses of personal information where required by law

16

12. Children's Privacy

Bloom is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it if required.

If a higher age threshold applies in your jurisdiction for digital consent, that higher threshold may also apply.

17

13. Third-Party Platforms and Services

Bloom may rely on third-party platforms or software components for distribution, app infrastructure, and core operation, such as Apple, Google, Expo, and React Native ecosystem dependencies. Those third parties may process information under their own terms, privacy notices, and policies.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the app store, operating system provider, and other third parties that interact with your use of the app.

18

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice where required by law.

Your continued use of Bloom after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means the updated Privacy Policy will apply, to the extent permitted by law.
